POLICIES

Check-in and check-out: Check-in is at 3:00 PM and check-out is 10:00 AM, unless other arrangements are made.

Deposits: Deposits are generally non-refundable for cancellations within two weeks of scheduled check-in, but please contact us if your plans need to change unexpectedly.

Payment: Payment in full is due before departure. We accept cash, checks, and credit cards.

Pets: We are a pet-friendly camp. Let us know details about your pet at the time of check-in. We do need all pets to be up to date on vaccinations. Please keep your pets leashed and under control at all times and remember to pick up after your pet. Disruptive animals, such as aggressive dogs or excessive barkers, will be asked to leave.

Fish cleaning: Please take advantage of the fish house for all your fish cleaning needs. Fish should not be cleaned in the cabins. The camp uses a septic system that is not designed to cope with fish entrails.

Quiet hours: Please respect quiet hours between 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM.

Campfires: Fire pits are provided for your enjoyment. Use them responsibly and do not leave your fire unattended. Do not start fires in any other part of the camp. Please clear debris from the fire pit before the end of your visit.

Firewood: Firewood is available for free onsite in a large pile past the recycling dumpster. If you wish to purchase firewood, please make sure that it is locally-sourced for environmental reasons.

Swimming: Swimming is not permitted.

Smoking: Smoking is not permitted in the cabins.

Occupancy: Hamilton Cottage (#6) sleeps up to six people; the other cottages sleep up to four. (There is no charge for children five and under, but they still count as an occupant of the cabin.) Cots and twin-sized mattresses are available for rearranging sleeping areas; these may be found in cottages or the shed.

Cleaning: Before you leave, we ask that you tidy up: washing dishes, sweeping, moving furniture back to its original location, and so forth.

Plumbing: Please only flush toilet paper—no paper towels, tampons, maxi pads, etc. Please do not dump food down the sink drain. (Our septic system can’t handle food and most types of paper.)

Parking: Parking is available next to all cottages. Please ask if you need additional parking for extra vehicles or trailers; ample space is available. We ask that guests not park on the boat launch side of Montgomery Cottage (#3).

Wi-Fi: Each cottage has its own Wi-Fi. Please consult the binder for network and password information, as well as user terms and conditions.

Furnishings: Please keep indoor furniture and furnishings indoors. Let us know if appliances or other furnishings break so we can rectify the situation.

Picnic tables: Please return your picnic table to its original location. Please do not place grills on the picnic tables.

Boats: Guests are responsible for the boats, motors, and other equipment they rent, and must operate equipment in compliance with state and local laws. All passengers must have personal flotation devices (PFDs). Larger boats will also come equipped with a throwable floatation device. All rented boats must be cleaned prior to check-out (or the end of the boat rental period).

PFDs: Personal floatation devices (life jackets) are provided with boat rentals and are also available for dock fishing. PFDs may be found in the garage under Hamilton Cottage (#6); alternatively, you may use your own.

Children: Please supervise children at all times. Adults registering a party including children are assumed to be acting in the capacity of guardian.

Speed limit: Please keep your speed to 5 MPH in the camp.

Concerns: If you have any concerns about safety or maintenance issues, please contact us immediately.

Emergencies: Contact information for local emergency services is provided in all cabins.

Guns: Guns are not permitted at the camp.

Flammables: Do not bring flammable materials (such as gasoline) into, under or near the cabins. Please do not discharge fireworks in the campground.

Gasoline: Gasoline is not currently available to purchase at camp.

Trash and recycling: Trash toters are located by Montgomery (#3), MacPherson (#2), and the main house. A recycling dumpster is located beyond MacPherson. Flammable or hazardous material may not be deposited in our trash.

Licenses and supplies: Fishing licenses and other supplies can be purchased next door at Chapman’s Sport Shop.

Visitors: Guests are responsible for their visitors and there is an additional charge for overnight visitors. All visitors must obey camp rules.

Alcohol and drugs: Please keep your usage legal and responsible. Guests who are disruptive or endanger themselves or others will be asked to leave.

Conduct: We will ask guests to leave in the case of unacceptable behavior, including but not limited to excessive noise, destructive or unsafe behavior, harassment, hate speech, threats, and violence.

Photography and video: Please enjoy documenting your vacation in the beautiful North Country! We do ask that you remain respectful of other guests’ desired levels of privacy when making or sharing videos and photos. The Camp will not share any photo or video in which you are a subject without first asking your permission. As a matter of policy, we will never identify minors by their surname or share images without the permission of both the minor and a parent or guardian.

Wildlife: Please do not feed or harass the wildlife. During your stay, you are likely to encounter waterfowl, snakes, squirrels, semi-feral cats, and a variety of other animals; they generally keep their distance from humans.

Conservation: Please respect the natural beauty of the camp, lake, and surrounding area. Refrain from damaging trees, wildflowers, or native wildlife. When fishing, please respect the season, daily limit, and the size of fish, as outlined in New York State and St. Lawrence County regulations.

COVID-19: We are monitoring sources of public health information and have developed a set of COVID-19 policies and precautions
